Wrath Of The Titans
After watching Wrath of the Titans the other day, I knew the film was going to be heavy on their effects based on their trailer.
I was right indeed.
To be honest, it was hard to watch the film because it was pretty noisy with all the screeches and battle cries of the characters but I thought the animation was okay.
KRONOS
I was especially impressed with the appearance of Kronos, the father of the mythical Greek gods. The way he moves was fluid yet weighed down(probably because he is a creature made out of molten lava). The part which still captures my attention was the part when Kronos swings his arm in a swift movement. As he swings, molten lava sprays down upon the earth. Visually, it was a stunning shot for me. Also, when he was awakened in the Underworld, everything was composited beautifully and everything pieced up well. It made the audience believe that there may be such a place like that in this world.
THE CONFRONTATION
Everyone loves fight scenes, especially when it comes to gods. What I want to highlight first is the scene where Zeus used his remaining powers to protect Hades from an oncoming blow from Kronos. The ray that passed his seemingly-human hands looked cool. Also, when Perseus, mounted on his trusted pegasus, flew to Kronos to end the chaos, the balls of fire and smoke hurled onto our hero's path added to the tension of the situation. The audience will be asking questions(although they would have probably known the answer because the hero always wins). The way that pegasus moves is swift yet fearsome, like its stance.
So overall, the movie was pretty good in terms of visual effects but they could reduce the noise in that film, honestly.
